Training grant covers 95% Absentee Payroll 

You can enjoy lower training costs and more training choices if you send your employees for training.

What does it cover?

The training grant covers 95% Absentee Payroll (no dollar cap). You can benefit from this when you enroll your employees in any of the following courses:

  • Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses
    • All WSQ courses are supported under the WTS scheme. Please click here to see the list of CET Centres offering WSQ courses and their contact details.

Who can qualify?

Your employees will qualify if they meet these criteria:

  • are a Singapore citizen;
  • are aged 35 years and above on 31 December of the work year (aged 13 years and above for persons with disabilities);
  • earn an average gross monthly income of not more than $2,000 for the months worked; and
  • have signed up for any WTS qualifying courses.

You can apply and claim for the grants through the SkillsConnect system.

Training conducted by approved training organisations (ATOs)

At the point of application, the system will automatically compute the course fee funding support and absentee payroll funding that the company is entitled to, based on the workers' profile. Applications are to be submitted between 30 days before and after the course start date. Claims are to be submitted no later than 120 days after the course has ended.

Training conducted by the CET centres

You will have to first pay the existing nett fee. Thereafter, you will be reimbursed for the additional course fee funding support that you are entitled to as well as the higher absentee payroll after making a claim via the SkillsConnect system.
